The Josepho Team
The Josepho Team is a coed venture crew based in the Santa Monica Mountains serving youth from the age 14 to 20 and adults 21 and over. The original Josepho Team was created in 1941 as the primary staff for the Camp Josepho and as the main support group for its programs. At the time, Camp Josepho was considered West Point of Scouting. Today, though we have evolved to a new multi aspect program with many areas of specialization and advancement, we still hold true to the very same values of the 40s. Our broad program encourages a wide verity of skills to develop and for both youth and adults to pick areas that interest them.
Camp Josepho Unit
We provide year round volunteer support for Camp Josepho. Our primary duties are to provide safety and first aid assistance to large groups and events. In addition to first aid we provide logistical support when requested and can provide program specific support if needed. We also provide maintenance support and service projects to help improve the camp facilities.
State Park Unit
Our newest unit of the Team provides supports the Topanga State Park Sector of the Santa Monica Mountains. We provide backcountry patrols of trails assisting park visitors with directions, park history, basic first aid and water. In addition to patrols we assist the Park Rangers in educating visitors about the park rules and regulations. In the case of large scale events we assist park aids with traffic control, parking assistance and logistical support along with our normal duties. Trail patrols are conducted almost every weekend and some week days during the summer months. If you are interested in this program e-mail us at spu@josephoteam.org to schedule an orientation patrol.
Event Logistics Unit
We provide a wide array of support functions and planning. Let us assist you with your event from start to finish. We will cater to your needs and wants to make things move smoothly. With a youth run program complemented with advisors as experts in their fields we can think out of the box and help create the best plan for you. The most common support that we provide is logistical and first aid teams.
